Shareholder Foundations: The first European Study

As part of the ESSEC Philanthropy Chair, I recently co-authored a report on Shareholder Foundations (2015), in collaboration with the consulting firm Prophil and the French law firm Delsol Avocats. Shareholder foundation ownership is a unique model of corporate governance where a for-profit firm is owned, either partially or wholly, by a philanthropic foundation. In this report, we compare how the model differs across Denmark, Germany, Switzerland and France. More information on the report can be found below (available in both French and English). The launch of the English version of the report took place at the French embassy in Copenhagen on October 19th 2015.
